To schedule your medical ride, call I Ride Seeley Lake: 406-916-7860.

I Ride Seeley Lake provides transportation to medical appointments (medical, dental, vision, chiropractic, mental health and more) in Seeley Lake and Missoula. Using the I Ride Service

The I Ride Seeley Lake Medical Appointment Shuttle service (“I Ride Seeley Lake”) provides an option for those who have limited access to medical transportation services in Seeley Lake and Missoula.  A wheel-chair accessible ramp van is available upon request.

Please try to schedule your medical appointment Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. To schedule your medical ride, call: 406-916-7860. Your flexibility is appreciated as we work with our volunteer driver schedules. Providing transportation, coordinating logistic and servicing a spread out rural area is complex!

Rides are by appointment only and need to be scheduled 48 hours in advance for local trips and one week in advance for trips to Missoula. New riders must fill out paperwork prior to riding.

The cost is $1 for each one way trip to Seeley Swan Medical Center, Rejuvenate Physical Therapy or Seeley Swan Pharmacy, and $5 for one way rides to Missoula ($10 round trip).

Because our vans are partially funded through the Montana Department of Transportation, the public can submit a MDT civil rights discrimination complaint if needed. TTY: 800-335-7592

Thank you to Missoula County Community Assistance Fund for providing grant funding to help continue this important program!

Information on our I Ride Medical Appointment Van Shuttle

People want to grow old in their community and home they love, but getting the care they need can be a challenge in our beautiful, rugged, rural corner of the county. Seeley Lake is an aging community, statistically older than the rest of the county, with long distances required to access many services. Seeley Lake has a community medical clinic, but many residents need access to specialized medical services provided by the larger facilities in Missoula.

I Ride Seeley Lake provides transportation to medical appointments in Seeley Lake and Missoula for rural residents who have limited access to transportation. In 2017, the Seeley Lake Community Foundation (SLCF) started I Ride Seeley Lake to help meet the needs of our community’s transportation disadvantaged.  Since then, we have provided over 2000 rides, and the demand keeps growing!

Without this essential health care transportation service, disadvantaged residents would be forced into making the decision to let their health deteriorate or move to another community to facilitate easier access to healthcare. With skyrocketing housing costs across western Montana, moving becomes unrealistic for the people we serve. However, letting health deteriorate for these vulnerable community members would just cost more for emergency transportation and emergency medicine down the line.

This program is a partnership between the Seeley Lake Community Foundation and the Missoula-Ravalli Transportation Management Authority (MRTMA).

The I Ride Seeley Lake program generally serves the Seeley Lake area. There are some outlying areas, due to capacity constraints, that we are unable to serve at the present time.

Here is a more detailed job description for being a volunteer driver.

Excerpt from the October 25, 2018 article ‘I Ride Seeley Lake looking to expand services’, by Andi Bourne, Seeley-Swan Pathfinder:

“Adrian Vanderwielen has been a volunteer driver since the summer of 2017. He enjoys being able to offer the service to those that may not otherwise be able to get to their appointments. ‘The riders are always so thankful that someone does this for them,’ said Vanderwielen. Frazier praised the drivers he has had commending them on their safety and attentiveness. He has met new people and is especially grateful for his regular driver Terri Nall. ‘Terri is an angel in disguise,’ said Frazier. ‘She is a great person – so gentle and helpful.’”
